BIOGRAPHY

Maria Nikolic is Hungarian-Serbian oboist. From the very beginning of her education, she shows enourmous talent for music in early age. She finished Faculty of Music in Belgrade, and she is holder of BA diploma in Arts. In june 2021, she graduated from the Royal Conservatory in the Hague, in class of prof. Karel Schools with very high remarks. During her studies in Serbia, she was an honorable holder of "Dositeja" stiepndium for Young Talents, awarded by the Serbian Ministry of Education. She is also 2 times awarded title of laureate, for the continuated contribution in the field of music year 2003 and year 2008. During her career, she participated at many master classes with famous oboists and pedagogues such as Maurice Bourgue, Alexei Ogrintchouk, Hansjorg Schellenberger, Emanuel Abbuehl and others.  Since October 2016 she is under mentorship of professor Maurice Bourgue in Paris.

As a member of symphony orchestra, she participated in few Orchestra Academies such as "Festival Richard Wagner im Bayreuth", Maribor Orchestra Academy in Slovenia; Orchestra Academy of Wiener Philharmoniker under leadership of maestro Rainer Honeck in Wien 2017 as principal oboist. She also worked as permanent substitution for the 2nd oboe in Belgrade Philharmonic, where she performed with many famous conductors as mr. Fabrice Bollon, maestro Zubin Mehta, mr. Muhai Tang (former chef conductor of Belgrade Philharmonic) Alexander Rahbari, Cristian Mandael, Vladimir Kulenovic etc.  She was also working with Deutsche Philharmonie Bonn, where she performed as principal oboist on a tour in China 2018/2019. After moving to the Netherlands, she started performing with Rotterdam Philharmonic, and being a substitute in other smaller baroque ensembles.
